Giants’ top player reveals target return.

Two weeks after undergoing knee surgery, Daniel Jones has provided a positive update on his recovery. The Giants quarterback revealed to reporters that he sustained an ACL injury and no other structural damage, according to the New York Post’s Ryan Dunleavy.

Jones said he plans to “check all the boxes” during his rehab, but is looking to return at training camp. “I think it depends on how I’m doing with each stage and how it goes,” he said. “I’m just trying to focus on what’s in front of me and do the best I can with each stage. It’s a long process.”

Considering the player’s injury, uneven play, and hefty $40M price tag, it was uncertain if the former sixth overall pick would stick around New York. GM Joe Schoen acknowledged that the player’s uncertain status for the start of next season could require the front office to make a move at the position, but he also noted that Jones is expected to be the QB1 when he’s healthy enough to play.

Kenny Pickett has had a rough start to his first two seasons as Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback, and now he’s out for the season after undergoing surgery to correct a high ankle sprain. With Pickett likely out for the rest of the season (or at least the next three to four weeks), some have wondered if the Steelers will make a move on Pickett this off-season.

It looks like that’s not going to happen. According to ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Pittsburgh has given no indication that they plan on moving on from Pickett.
