Nottingham Forest news LIVE: Boly, Aurier and Awoniyi latest injury news ahead of crucial Wolves clash

Here’s all the latest news from Nottingham Forest as Steve Cooper’s reds gear up to take on Wolves at Molineux.

Following their 5-0 thrashing at Fulham on Wednesday night, Nottingham Forest will travel to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday looking to halt their losing streak.

The Reds have now lost four in a row and have failed to register a single win in their past 11 matches, and their current run of form has led to speculation surrounding the future of manager Steve Cooper.

The absence of key players has had a negative effect on his team’s progress this season. We look at Forest’s injury situation ahead of the visit of Molineux.

What we know so far:

The right-back was left out of the squad for Fulham’s 3-0 drubbing last week and is expected to be unavailable for the game against Wolves.

Both Serge and Willy Boly were absent due to injury, with the former suffering a calf strain that will keep him out for a few weeks, according to Cooper at his pre-match news conference on Thursday.

Injury update: hip
What we know so far:
Willy Boly was forced off in the first half of last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Everton, and was a doubt for Saturday’s clash with Molineux

What we don’t know so far: Willy Boly is out for the season with a hip injury

“Willy Boly has picked up a hip injury,” said Coop on Thursday.

The Reds boss had previously said the injury was improving, but Boly was in “a lot of pain” after the Everton game.

Towards the end of the season, the striker will be out of action for a considerable period of time after undergoing surgery on his groin. Forest are hoping that the surgery will help to address the issue which had previously ruled him out, as the front man had aggravated the problem while with Nigeria.

According to the club, “It is regrettable that Taiwo has had to undergo surgery and will be out for some time,” a statement from the club read. “This is a difficult time for him and for us.”

Cooper added that the club will support the striker and will do their best to help him return to full fitness as soon as possible.

This is a huge setback for him, as he has become a key player for the club with his goals and assists. He is a great person and professional who is always striving to do his best, so this injury is a blow. We need to back him up and help him come back stronger. He has done this before and I am sure he will give it his all again, just like he did last season. When you think about how he did when he came back last season, it’s a great example for him to follow. He will definitely be back this season, but it is a groin injury and it will take some time.
