Enzo Maresca says Leicester should exercise caution as he identifies Leeds United’s greatest threat.

Enzo Maresca has identified Leeds United’s greatest threat to Leicester City and acknowledged that the Foxes must “be careful” considering how quickly the Whites are transitioning.

On Friday, November 3rd, at King Power Stadium, Daniel Farke’s team will play the Championship leaders in an attempt to close the gap between them and the automatic promotion spots, which are currently held by Ipswich Town and Maresca’s team.

The Leicester manager has acknowledged that his team will need to perform at their peak to contain the Whites, especially on the counter-attack given the talent at Farke’s disposal, even though Leeds enter the match as the second-best team—possibly for the first time this season.

He stated, “We know they are good in transition, in general, they are a very good team,” as reported by Leeds Live on November 2. They move quickly, so we must exercise caution. We will need to make a lot of passes before attacking more than before.

Since it’s a game, it’s a special night for us as well as the fans, no doubt about it. However, as I previously stated to QPR, it’s all about the three points for me. Tomorrow, we’ll try to score three points once more.

Even though this game could go either way, it is evident that no team, not even the current leaders in the Championship who have only lost once this year to Hull City, views Farke’s team as an easy opponent.

The Whites are extremely dangerous because of the depth of attacking talent at the German’s disposal. They can move quickly up the field on the counterattack, as they showed when they overcame Norwich City by coming from behind late in the game.

Leeds United has demonstrated in numerous games this season that they can dig in to get a result if and when it is necessary, so they will need to be defensively resolute as Maresca’s team looks to dominate the ball and limit the chances of the Whites making a quick break against them.

The Whites’ biggest priority, arguably, should be to focus on the opposition on Friday rather than the occasion, since Farke’s team has a history of collapsing under pressure in some of the biggest games of the season.

Leeds seemed to be playing under pressure from themselves during the loss to Southampton, and they can’t afford to do that against Leicester. Nothing is decided in November, after all.

In other Leeds United news, Brenden Aaronson’s Bundesliga debut with Union Berlin has drawn criticism from the German media.
