The injury bug has hit the Pittsburgh Steelers hard on the defensive end. The team announced on Wednesday that star edge rusher, T. J. Watt, has cleared concussion protocol and is expected to play against the Indianapolis Colts.

Watt has been named to the Pro Bowl each of the past five seasons. For the Colts, he has 14 sacks through 13 games this year. Watt is a game-changer for the Steelers and his return will give them a huge boost.

On the other hand, the biggest issue for the Steelers so far this season has been on the other end of the field. The team’s starting quarterback, Kenny Pickett, was placed on injured reserve on December 3rd after sustaining a season-ending knee injury against the Cardinals. Since Pickett’s return, the Steelers have allowed an NFL-low 27 points and are tied for last in the league in yards and scoring.

The Steelers didn’t set any team records with Pickett at quarterback, but they were worse in Trubisky’s first start against the Patriots last week. The Colts, on the other hand, have their own injury issues to deal with heading into Saturday’s game. Linebacker Braden Smith (knee) and Jonathan Taylor (knee) both missed practice on Wednesday, while corner Jaylon Jones (knee) returned.
