Packers RB confirms he suffered a knee injury against the Giants.
After a slow start to the season in September and October, the Green Bay Packers have miraculously clawed their way back into contention for a wild card spot in the NFC playoffs. However, the Packers have been hit hard by injuries and will not be fully healthy for the final four weeks of the regular season.
Aaron Jones, the second member of the Packers’ tag-team running back tandem, has played in just seven games this season due to an MCL injury that sidelined him for almost a month.
Packers running back AJ Dillon confirmed to reporters that he fractured his thumb in the fourth quarter of Monday night’s game against the New York.
Dillon is expected to be a game-time decision this Sunday as Green Bay takes on the NFC South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-7). Jones returned to practice Thursday and is expected to play on Sunday. The Packers (6-7) lost to the Giants on Monday, snapping a five-game winning streak, and are in serious danger of missing the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons. The Buccaneers are led by first-year quarterback Jordan Love, who is in his fourth season, and have some talented young wide receivers in Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and others.
Watson is out with a hamstring injury and it’s unclear if he’ll be available for Sunday’s game.
The Packers’ final three games of the regular season will be against the Carolina Panthers, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Chicago Bears.
unning back Aaron Jones has played in only seven games this year, and he has been out because of an injured MCL for nearly a month.
Meanwhile, AJ Dillon, the other half of the Packers’ tag-team duo in the backfield, confirmed that he broke his thumb late in Monday’s loss to the New York Giants, per Ari Meirov.
