Steelers’ Roethlisberger Receives Slam From Fellow Quarterback
Roethlisberger Takes Shots at Fellow Quarterback.
Cam Heyward, a Pittsburgh Steelers veteran, responded Thursday on “Good Morning Football” on NFL Network to the criticism of the team’s tradition “done” by a former quarterback (Roethlisberger) who questioned the team’s coaching and leadership and asked which players are willing to “challenge others” and “set the tone.”
Roethlisberger’s comments came in his weekly podcast after Pittsburgh lost 21-18 to New England on Sunday.
Ben has a right to his opinion, but I disagree,” said Heyward. “We’ve lost our last two games, and it’s been rough, but that’s the Steelers way. We’ve got a lot of work to do, and tradition begins with winning games, playing good defense, and putting points on the board.”
The Steelers have been grinding, but there hasn’t been much to show for it. Their inconsistent offense has been a major issue, and even head coach Mike Tomlin has begun to voice his disapproval. Things aren’t right in Pittsburgh, and Roethlisberger knows it.
