Just In: Warriors report sign a contract with forward Jimmy Butler for $190 Million’s…
If there is one NBA team that could be looking to make a move for another star, it could be the Golden State Warriors. We have seen them do this in the past and after the season they just had, it could happen again. The Dubs have been down the past two years because of injuries and could be looking to turn it around right away.
The Warriors were eliminated in a play-in portion of the postseason here. Stephen Curry led a mediocre team to overachieve this season and he did it by leading the league in scoring.
The Warriors will get Klay Thompson back next year and likely be back to competing near the top of the Western Conference. If the front office wants to solidify that notion, take a look at adding another big name player in the offseason.
There will be plenty of chances to land a star, either in NBA free agency or on the trading block. Here, the Warriors could look to the Miami Heat for a deal involving one of their best players.
The Heat entered the postseason as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and were swept out by the Milwaukee Bucks. Miami has been another team linked to some star names but could justify looking to build in another way given how poor of a playoff outing they had.
Some may be wondering…why would the Heat even consider trading Butler? It starts with the fact that he is set to command a massive four-year contract extension worth up to $181 million.
Is it really worthwhile to pay that for a player who will be 32-years-old in mid-September when the team isn’t in a position to win a championship?
This would certainly be a blockbuster NBA trade centered around Jimmy Butler between the Miami Heat and Golden State. Let’s take a look at what it might look like moving forward, per Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley.
