The dynamic running back tandem of Jaylen Warren and Najee Harris for the Pittsburgh Steelers is back in the NFL, but the team may see a return from a former member.
Running back Le’Veon Bell, in his five seasons with the Steelers, was one of the very best at his position in the league. In 62 games in the Steel City, Bell ran the ball 1,229 times for 5,336 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Back in 2018, a rift between Bell and the Steelers over a contract dispute made him sit out and never wore a Pittsburgh uniform again.
Recently posted on his Snapchat account, the former All-Pro runner Le’Veon Bell revealed he will be attempting an NFL comeback, and would only consider for one specific team.
Evidently, he expects to be in the best physical shape just as he’s been in as a pro, and says if Pittsburgh calls, he’s coming back, this season he hopes to play for team Steeler.
Bell said in his post,
“I won’t start training until like March. And I’m gonna be honest with myself, I got to go out there and be like, I’m going to put my foot in the ground. Do I feel it? Am I hurting? Can I go out there and really play again? And bro, I’m telling you all right now when I go out there and train in March, and if I hit April and I make this decision to come back to play in the NFL again, mark my words down — I will be better than I ever was. And I will only come back for that one team. You all know who it is. I don’t have to say any team. You all know who it is.”
Bell was at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex during the 2023 season and met his former coach, Mike Tomlin, a possible roadmap to his return.
