The Detroit Lions are conscious that they are up against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Even though the Bucs have a very strong run defense, Detroit won’t hesitate to try to establish the run, especially with a somewhat healthy and confident offensive line.

Todd Bowles’ defense has only allowed 150 rushing yards three times in 2023. While starting the run this week in the divisional clash is important, head coach Dan Campbell stated that the entire offense must contribute when facing a team with a defense that is playing this well.

Yes, we are pleased with the work that Lions running back David Montgomery and running back Jahmyr Gibbs have accomplished. And they’re an essential component of our offensive output,” Campbell remarked. “They each offer something unique to the table, and our goal was, in my opinion, this is where it’s coming from and how it’s manifesting itself. Thus, we are. It will be necessary for us to engage those guys. However, I believe that this is one of those games where everyone is necessary. You truly are.

And we’ll need to be able to manage it and give it to those guys. However, (Amon-Ra) St. Brown’s needs to be significant for us. Josh Reynolds needs to be significant to us. Sam) LaPorta needs to be significant to us. To move the football against this defense, everyone will need to step up, Campbell continued. We’re about to take on a championship defense. Among the best in the League is this one. That was and still is when we first encountered them. Due to his recuperation from an injury, Detroit’s rookie running back did not play in Week 6.

It will be crucial, in my opinion, to set up the groundwork. “I think the O-line has a chip on their shoulder from that last game cause we could have done better,” Gibbs said. We have a responsibility to uphold, so I believe we will.
