The rookie of the Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a serious blow in the Wild Card game.
PARK ORCHARD — Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. suffered a head injury in the second half of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ game against the Buffalo Bills, which dealt a blow to the team’s defense in their first playoff encounter.
In the third quarter, Porter was struck by an offensive lineman for the Bills during a pass and went down. Porter was rolling around in obvious discomfort as he hit the turf. After being assessed on the field, he was able to leave on his own.
Porter was brought to the medical tent, where he was observed by trainers once more. After that, he was led to the changing area.
In Porter’s absence, the Steelers’ cornerback options will be Patrick Peterson and Levi Wallace, with James Pierre serving as their lone backup. In addition to his experience on the outside, Chandon Sullivan is a slot player most of the time.
The Steelers will keep you updated on Porter’s injuries as additional details come to light.
