Clark Haggans, a former linebacker for the Steelers, passed away from difficulties brought on by long-term ethanol consumption.

Haggans passed away in Fort Collins, Colorado, in June at the age of 46. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office was looking into his death.

Now that the coroner’s office has made public its findings, it is clear that Haggans passed away naturally and that the problems resulting from long-term ethanol usage were the cause of his death. The original text was modified to read “complications from chronic alcohol use.”

During his tenure with the Ravens in 2017–18, Collins started 22 games while rushing for 1,384 yards and 13 touchdowns. He gained more yards via the air in five games versus the Steelers (380 yards) than he had against any other opponent in his career.

During this trying time, the family and friends of Collins are receiving the condolences of the entire Steelers team.
