According to Jurgen Klopp, the highly-regarded 22-year-old midfield player is the ideal piece in his rebuilding of the midfield. However, Aston Villa will make it difficult for the Reds to do a simple deal on the midfield player.
Is another midfielder necessary for Liverpool?
Liverpool remained active until the very end of the summer transfer window, as Jurgen Klopp wanted to address his midfield problems accurately. The Reds missed out on top midfield targets Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo, with the pair joining Chelsea, although they did sign a few notable names.
To cover for Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s departure to Saudi Arabia, Dominik Szoboszlai joined from RB Leipzig and Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion. Wataru Endo was brought in as the team’s defensive midfield expert, and Ryan Gravenberch also came from Bayern Munich.
Multiple sources suggest that Klopp may still be shopping for new midfield players, indicating that he is not finished with his rebuild. Given that Liverpool has more important things to do next month, those transfers might take place in the summer as opposed to January.
