MLB commissioner Rob Manfred released a statement Wednesday saying, “Spring Breakout is going to be a great opportunity for our fans to meet our top prospects and get autographs from them as they continue their road to the big leagues. We’re excited to see Major League Baseball and Minor League Baseball, and each of our Clubs, working together more than ever before to advance the game and shine a greater spotlight on our future stars.”
The Spring Breakout rosters will be released closer to the event.
Prospects can play at any Minor League level, regardless of prior experience, so there’s a mix of players who are almost ready for the big leagues and some of the youngest talent in pro ball.
Thursday, March 14: The Rangers at the Reds – Surprise Stadium, Surprise, Ariz. – 6:05 pm ET / 3:05 pm local in Arizona
The Orioles at the Pirates – Bradenton, FL – 1:10 pm ET / 1:10 pm local in Florida.
