David Seaman, a former goalie for Arsenal and England, has admitted that Guglielmo Vicario’s recent victory

over Burnley left him unsatisfied with what he did. It turns out that the Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper overdid his celebration after a game-winning save.

Tottenham have a lot of work to do this summer to improve their goalkeeping. One of the first things Ange Postecoglou did after taking over as manager was to replace Hugo Lloris, whose alarming decline last season led to the need for a new number-one goalkeeper.

Guglielmo Vicario, who joined from Empoli in a deal reportedly worth £17 million (EuroSport), was selected to fill Lloris’ gloves.

As Postecoglou sought to modify Spurs’ strategy for the game, the Italian’s ability to play with the ball at his feet was considered as a significant advantage.

Vicario has also had a fruitful beginning to life in North London. The 27-year-old has been a crucial part of Tottenham’s undefeated start to the Premier League season with two clean sheets in as many games and a number of significant saves.

Guglielmo Vicario has David Seaman upset.
David Seaman, though, is unimpressed. Certainly not with any of the actions Vicario took during the most recent triumph over Burnley.

“I saw [Guglielmo] Vicario he made a save for Tottenham which was a decent save until I saw his celebration,” Seaman stated on his podcast. With a celebration like that, I was like, “I’m not having you; you’re not getting anywhere near my save of the week.”

It was excessively large. I don’t like to watch that because he went for it properly; it wasn’t like a massive save.

Tottenham Web Opinion

Guglielmo Vicario must be doing fairly well if the only thing he’s doing ‘wrong’ is celebrating too much. I was concerned the Italian could need some time to get used to the Premier League, but he has had a great start and hopefully can keep getting better.
