Experts Break Down LA’s Miserable Passing Defense.

In their Week 7 game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Patrick Mahomes continued to show why the Chiefs have been the AFC West division champions for so long. Mahomes went on to throw for 400 yards and four touchdowns against the Chargers’ poor zone defense, sending Los Angeles to its second loss in a row. Many players were responsible for the Chargers losing a game they should have won, but one expert took a look at the performance of the Chargers’ secondary after yet another brutal defeat.

Derwin James focused on the bad defense that cost the Chargers the game, but another coach said LA should have been in the game no matter what.

While Mahomes showed why he’s one of the best players in the league, Los Angeles’ offense also had its share of issues in the second half of the game that contributed to the loss.

With all 53 players on coach Brandon Staley’s 53-man roster staring at 2-4 records, the race for the head coach’s job heats up as the disappointing season continues.

Justin Herbert broke his finger against the Lions, according to the latest Chargers injury report.

Justin Herbert, your Los Angeles Chargers’ star quarterback and 2021 Pro Bowl selection, has a wrap wrapped around his broken left hand, which appears to be slightly smaller than it was in Los Angeles’s last two games (both victories), according to The Athletic’s Daniel Popper. Popper reports that only the middle finger of Herbert’s left hand is bandaged, which is a downgrade from the longer coverage he wore in Los Angeles’s dominant wins over New York and Chicago that put the Chargers back on track at 4-4.

For the season, Herbert has thrown for 2,072 yards and 13 touchdowns with just four picks, good for a 97.3 quarterback rating.

The Chargers host the 6-2 Lions at SoFi Stadium, who have established themselves as one of the best teams in the NFC this season. The game is currently airing on CBS.
