Dallas Cowboys’ night of embarrassment.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Dallas Cowboys Live Score and Stats

The 49ers and Cowboys faced each other on Sunday night, and the 49ers came out on top. The Cowboys, on the other hand, ran roughshod over the Giants, Jets, and Patriots.

The San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys faced off on Sunday night. The 49ers had lost their last two games to the Cowboys, both of which were playoff games. The Cowboys, meanwhile, had won three in a row, dismantling the Giants, Jets, and Patriots. The 49ers presented a different set of challenges.

Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott went into the game with a lot on his mind. He had lost his last two to the 49ers, both of which had playoff implications. Still, the Cowboys needed to get the “monkey” off their back. If you watched the game, you’ll know that the monkey is still there.

Kyle Shanahan dominated Dan Quinn and penalties were the icing on the cake
Offensive penalties against the defense gave the 49ers a 7-0 lead in the first

And it didn’t end there. Kearse had a bad first-half performance and was penalized for taunting. Fortunately for Kearse, Wilson was penalized for an “unsavory” (to put it another way) personal foul that extended the 49ers’ possession.

The refs were preoccupied with something called “unknown tasks” as Tony Pollard was helmet-to-helmet when he clearly went out of bounds.

And that wasn’t the end of it. Kearse had a bad first-half performance and was penalized for taunting. Fortunately for Kearse, Wilson was penalized for “questionable,” at best, personal fouls that extended the 49ers’ possession.

The refs were preoccupied with something called “unknown tasks” as Tony Pollard was helmet-to-helmet when he was clearly ruled out of bounds.

Penalties were Dallas’ biggest problem, but it wasn’t just that.

The 49ers offense did an excellent job of emphasizing the strengths of quarterback Brock Purdy while neutralizing defensive end Micah Parsons most of the day. The 49ers doubled Purdy multiple times, ran directly at him and chipped Purdy with a full-back to the point where Purdy’s pass-rush skills were nonexistent. The 49ers also ran the ball well enough that the defense stayed honest enough to allow the 49ers to throw play-action multiple times, including three touchdowns to tight end George Kittle, along with a pair of play-action touchdowns for wide receivers Brandon LaGrange and Dede Westbrook.

Dak and his offense looked good, but it wasn’t enough
Let’s start with one bright spot: Dak didn’t throw a turnover (at all) in the first half of the second half. He made up for that in spades in the second.

It’s one thing if he didn’t take into account the presence of a deep threat, but on the first interception, the ball was heavily skewed to the inside. I won’t go into specifics on the other two, but we all saw them.

There was a lot more to it than that. The offensive line could have been more effective. The Cowboys had all five starters on the offensive line, and the 49ers’ defensive line kept making Dak uncomfortable.

The 49ers’ “Texas coast offense” looked like it was going to be a lot like the Dallas Cowboys’ offense. Outside of one well-executed red zone scoring pass to Keke Coutee, the rest of the game was a grind.

It’s time for Mike McCarthy and Brian Shottenheimer to explain why they still haven’t figured out how to cover Cee-Dee Lamb, who had four catches for 49 yards.

I was more worried about the injuries than anything else in this game. Things started to spiral out of control in the second quarter. First, the Cowboys lost Turpin, who is expected to be out for the rest of the season with what appears to be a minor ankle injury. After Turpin went down on a roll-up on Ty Biadasz, Jourdan Lewis tried to favor his leg but was unable to return. Then, DaRon Bland was ruled out with an undisclosed injury. Finally, Leighton Vander esch was carted off with a possible neck injury, and Donovan Wilson was ruled out as well. The Cowboys need the clock to start over. It wasn’t their night, and they learned a lot of lessons along the way. It could have been so much better. The Cowboys lost 42-10, and it’s been a long week for them.
