Tennessee Ripped for Lackluster Offense By Fans in Upset Loss vs. Unranked Florida.

It wasn’t a great night for the Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday. The No. 11 Vols faced the Florida Gators in Gainesville and were soundly beaten, losing 29-16.

The loss comes on the heels of a two-game winning streak for the Volunteers, who entered the season as one of the favorites to make a deep run into the SEC Championship Game.

After scoring 49 points against Virginia in the opener and 30 in the second half of the season opener against Austin Peay, Tennessee’s offense was held to a season-low 16 points.

The numbers don’t look so bad from a statistical standpoint, as the Volunteers totaled 388 total yards. Much of that came in the second half, however, which could be viewed as a high number.

The Volunteers will need to rebound quickly in order to remain competitive in SEC play. First, they will turn their attention to a Group of Five opponent in UTSA next weekend.

Following that, Tennessee will dive back into SEC play with South Carolina, Texas A&M and Alabama in order.

The Vols will need to get back on track as soon as possible in order to stay competitive in the SEC. First, the Vols will face UTSA in a Group of Five matchup next weekend. After that, Tennessee will return to SEC action with games against South Carolina and Texas A&M, and Alabama.
