Magic wins Skyforce again as Mulder hits another milestone.

Mulder passes Henry James as the franchise’s all-time leader in 3-point shooting

Thursday evening at the Sanford Pentagon, the Skyforce fell 125-121 to the visiting Lakeland Magic in the second game of a double-header. Mychal Mulder (322 3PM) broke the franchise’s 20-year-old three-point record (Henry James (318). Mulder currently has the highest three-point shooting percentage (43.6%) among NBA G League players with 35+ makes.

The Skyforce took a 64-63 lead in the first half as Lakeland shot 56.8% from the field and 25-44 FG. The Miami HEAT’s Jamal Cain (27 points, 10-19 FG, 9 rebounds) led the Skyforce with 15 points off the bench.

Mulder broke the franchise record with his first of three three-point shots in the quarter at 11:14 to give the Skyforce a lead of 99-93 heading to the final 12 minutes. It was the fourth time in five games that Mulder has had seven or more three-point makes.

For Lakeland, Orlando two-way player Kevin Harris led the way with 26 points (9-16 FGA) and nine rebounds. Off the bench, assigned guard Caleb Houstan had 14 points.

For the Skyforce, Justin Champagnie scored 22 points (10-15 FGA) and Sam Thompson added 11 points (3-4 FGA).

Lakeland outscored the Skyforce by 10 points (8-5 FGA) in the final quarter as Orlando assignee Jonathan Isaac scored nine points (5-13 FGA).The Skyforce will host the Austin Spurs on Tuesday evening at the Sanford Pentagon (6:30 PM CST).
