Newcastle United are said to be interested in signing Goncalo Guedes in January.

GONCALO INAUCA: NEWCASTLE UNITED COULD MOVE FOR SIGNING OF SPORTING CP’S GOAL IN JANUARY

The Magpies will have to pay Sporting CP’s €60m release clause if they want to sign the Portuguese international in January.

Mais Futebol has reported that Newcastle United are ready to make a move for the Portuguese international, who has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

According to the report, Newcastle will have to pay the full amount of the player’s release clause in order to sign him.

Newcastle United could be close to signing Sporting CP’s striker in January, according to reports from Mais Futebol. The Portuguese international has been linked to a number of top-tier clubs, and the Magpies would need to pay the player’s €60 million release clause to sign him.

In the case of Inacio, both Man Utd and Liverpool have made enquiries, but now it’s Newcastle United’s turn. Eddie Howe has made signing a new centre-back one of his top priorities for January, but he won’t be happy with the cost.

Inacio, who is valued at €60 million by Sporting, is one of a number of centre-backs on Howe’s shortlist, which also includes Danish international Andreas Christensen, Brantwaite, and Sporting forward OusmaneDiomande.

The Magpies boss will relish the idea of signing Inacio, though, as they head into a key period of the season in need of a new centre-back. The departure of Botman and Burn has been a major blow to their defence, with both players able to play in the centre of the park.

So far, Howe has stuck to his guns in the back three, with Lascelles, Schar and Schar all expected to step up in January.

Newcastle will have to pay the full €60 million of Inacio’s release clause in order to secure his signature.

It has been reported that the Spaniard is open to a move to the Premier League, but it remains to be seen whether he is willing to join.

Man Utd and Liverpool have been long-term admirers of Inacio, with the latter particularly keen on adding a left-foot centre-back to their squad, with Jurgen klopp looking for a left-sided centre-back.

The Magpies will bolster their backline with the addition of Inacio, but the signing of another left-foot star will create complications, as they already have an undisputed starter in Sven Botman.

So far, there has been no bid, but that could change as the January window opens.
