NFL legend sends Cowboys a massive wakeup call

Today, the Dallas Cowboys will host the Washington Commanders in a crucial divisional showdown. The Cowboys will be looking to extend their winning streak to eight games when they host their divisional opponent for the first time this season.

The Cowboys (7-3) are 13-point favorites over the Commanders (4-7), who are coming off a loss to a quarterbackless New York Giants team. Despite the obvious difference in talent and the fact that the Cowboys are better at every position and every possible metric or facet of the game, former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin doesn’t want them to take this game for granted.

“I’ve seen it happen too many times,” Irvin said on Undisputed’s latest podcast, “especially on Thanksgiving.”

He said that divisional opponents know each other so well that sometimes it doesn’t matter who has the best record or who has the best team and anyone can win.

To be honest, I don’t see this team as a threat to the cowboys.

On the other hand, the same can be said about the Arizona Cardinals. We saw how that went for Mike McCarthy’s team last year.

Not to mention the fact that both head coach Ron Rivera and quarterback Sam Howell may be fighting for their jobs in the near future.

Both will be motivated to play their best game against a division rival that they beat in last year’s season finale.
