After firing offensive coordinator Matt Canada earlier today, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been busy, but they have also bolstered their defense. The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed veteran linebacker Blake Martinez from the Carolina Panthers practice squad, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

After retiring at the conclusion of the 2022 regular season and becoming embroiled in a Pokemon card controversy, Blake Martinez has not played this season. A few weeks ago, he signed on to the Panthers practice squad, but he never saw action. He will, nevertheless, be listed as a member of the 53-man roster for this week’s Pittsburgh Steelers Week 12 matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Since the Green Bay Packers selected Martinez in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft, he has racked up 706 total tackles and 13 sacks. Before retiring, he played for the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Will the Pittsburgh Steelers qualify for the postseason?
It is being forgotten in the midst of all the talk about Matt Canada’s firing as offensive coordinator that the team is currently sitting as the seventh seed in the AFC with a 6-4 record. This team needs to be carried forward by adding a defensive player who can continue to make them a formidable threat.

With their remaining regular season schedule, they should be able to secure 10 or more victories, which should be sufficient. Their remaining schedule is listed below:

At the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 12

Game 13: Arizona Cardinals vs.

vs. New England Patriots in Week 14

At the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15

vs. Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16

At the Seattle Seahawks in Week 17

At the Baltimore Ravens in Week 18

With only the final two games against teams that are presently in the playoffs, this schedule is fairly straightforward. Depending on how the rest of the AFC plays out, the Ravens might already be resting as we approach Week 18. With Matt Canada gone, the Steelers should be able to maintain their dominance on defense and increase their offensive flexibility.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are in control of the situation because they have an easy schedule and are close to finishing above the rest of the league.500, as head coach Mike Tomlin appears to accomplish each and every season.
