The club are already in a verbal agreement to sign the ‘impressive’ Leeds player.

According to a new report, a European club already have a deal in place to sign one player from Leeds United next year.

The summer has been a turbulent one at Elland Road, with new ownership, a new manager, and a number of departures and arrivals in the squad. Many of the players have had clauses in their contracts that allow them to leave on loan following a drop down a division, and Luis Sinisterra was the last to depart on a temporary basis when he joined Bournemouth on the final day of the season.

Marc Roca was one of the first to leave, returning to his native Spain to join Real Betis. Rumours have been circulating that the Spaniard may not return to Leeds next season, regardless of what league they play in, and there has now been a development

Real Betis have a verbal agreement to let Roca move to the Estadio, with an option to sign him on a permanent deal for €12m next summer, even if Leeds go all the way up to the Premier League if the Whites stay in the Championship.

Here’s an in-depth look at Roca’s time so far at Real Betis, along with an update on what’s next.

Roca is expected to stay in Spain for the rest of the season and Leeds and Real Betis are said to be “pleased” about the deal.

Roca has been in and out of the first-team for the past two seasons and has made just 16 appearances in all competitions, playing at centre-back twice.

He has scored three times and provided one assist in that time (Stats via Transfermarkt).

Roca is a highly-rated player who has been described as “impressive” by ex-Bayern Munich manager Jyrki Jokanicki.

Pellegrini has made him a regular under the new manager and Roca has been a key player for the club this season.

Roca has previously said he was happy to return to Spain, saying “it’s always good to come home. I played in La Liga and started my career here. After three years abroad in Germany, between England and Germany, I wanted to move to Betis and I am very happy and comfortable on the field.”

Roca’s time away from Leeds appears to have had a positive effect on him, as evidenced by his average whoScored match rating, which has risen from 6.50 / 10 to 6.64 / 10 in the league and 6.94 / 10 in the Europa.

Leeds fans will be disappointed to see Roca leave the club next season, with speculation rife that a permanent switch will be agreed, with the 49ers able to recoup a fee as Roca’s current deal with Leeds runs until 2026.
