In the midst of Ibrox denials, former Norwich City sporting director Stuart Webber rejected Rangers.

Though the club maintains there has been no approach, Ben Jacobs reports that Stuart Webber is still viewed as the industry’s “perfect fit” to be Rangers sporting director.

The 39-year-old has already been approached by the Light Blues and rejected, the CBS journalist told GiveMeSport on November 4. Despite this, the connections are still being made, despite the Ibrox hierarchy “firmly downplaying” the idea.Rangers reaction: Dessers in denial, three of a kind, new Rangers song in offing

It seems that Webber intends to take a break from football before choosing his next course of action after leaving Norwich City.

Rangers would have been a more obvious fit, according to Jacobs, who added that Webber had previously been approached by the team but declined to join them.

Many in the business believe that Webber would be a fantastic fit for the Rangers, but Rangers-affiliated sources strongly deny that any approach or discussions have taken place.

“At the moment, the Leeds connections are empty. Webber seems to be trying to bide his time and take some personal time away from the game before deciding what his next move is, so Leeds may need to exercise extreme patience if they hope to see Daniel Farke and Webber together again.

Although many in the industry think Webber would be a great fit for the Rangers, sources close to the team vehemently dispute that any approaches or talks have even been held.

“The Leeds connections are currently empty. Leeds may need to be extremely patient if they want to see Daniel Farke and Webber together again, as it appears that Webber is trying to bide his time and take some personal time away from the game before deciding what his next move is.

It appears that the Rangers will have to wait either way if they want Webber, but if he has already rejected them, something major must have changed for him to agree to sign.Training Ground Guru | Evaluating Stuart Webber's six years at Norwich City

Based on that, it appears improbable that he will arrive at Ibrox anytime soon, and the position will remain vacant.

Although Clement appears to be a somewhat powerful figure already and the initial outcomes have been positive, leaving the manager in charge of hiring mainly could invite trouble given the impending transfer window and the summer’s events.
