Done Deal: Golden State warriors sign Ben Simmons for $85 Million’s from Philadelphia 76ers…
The NBA world watched as the Philadelphia 76ers fell to the Atlanta Hawks in Game 7, forcing the 76ers to reevaluate their roster moving forward. In a win-or-go-home game, Ben Simmons attempted just four shots, scoring five points for Philadelphia.
Given Simmons’ performance throughout the playoffs, the 76ers could very well consider trading the two-way point-forward this offseason, and the Golden State Warriors could be a potential landing spot.
The Warriors are getting Klay Thompson back next season, and their trio of Stephen Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green have their sights on competing for a title in 2021-22.
Given that, it is unlikely that Golden State would want to go through the trouble of seeing if Simmons is a fit on the roster. But in the scenario that the Warriors believe they can help Simmons evolve as a player, what could a trade look like?
There would be multiple pieces involved, and Golden State could elect to move on from some of their young players to acquire the three-time All-Star.
Besides deciphering what a trade could look like involving Simmons, I’ll be discussing whether or not the trade makes sense for both teams that are part of what could be classified as a blockbuster move.
