Although Jack Grealish has made winning a trophy with England his next major goal, he did not spend his childhood daydreaming about it. His childhood fantasies were centered on Aston Villa.

The 28-year-old claims that he has ever had one item on his childhood bucket list. And that was to put on a shirt from Villa. Once he had accomplished that goal, Grealish started to set new ones for himself, including being a regular for the team. Before his £100 million transfer to Manchester City two years ago, he made more than 200 appearances for Villa.

Following that, Pep Guardiola’s team had a treble-winning season. Grealish has now set his sights on adding to his collection of national medals.

He admitted to talkSPORT that his dream was to always play for Aston Villa. “Since I was a kid, honestly, and I’ve said this to a lot of people, my dream was just to always play for Aston Villa,” he added. “You know, some people say, ‘Oh, playing in the World Cup was my dream. Do you understand what I mean when I say that I feel like my dream was never to play at a World Cup because there was so much more to do before that?

Grealish is looking forward to more triumph celebrations in his upcoming dream. As they prepare for the Euros in 2020, he believes Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions have the team to contend for a trophy.

It’s challenging considering the season we had with (City) last year, but I’m positive it has something to do with this country, he continued. “I simply feel like this is really our time. We have a fantastic team, an unbelievable boss.

You can see players like (Marcus) Rashford, (Jude) Bellingham, (Harry) Kane, (Buakyo) Saka, and (Phil) Foden who would fit in with any starting XI anywhere in the world. You just find it unbelievable when you look at that. Therefore, after the treble last year, I believe (winning something with England) is likely next on the agenda.
