TRANSFER NEWS: Ben Broggio was desired by Arsenal before the Villa…..

Before Ben Broggio signed his first professional contract at Aston Villa, Dan Bardell claims that Arsenal was interested in signing him.

After making an impression for the U-21 team this season, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder signed a contract with Villa, the club announced on their website on February 2.

The England youth international’s commitment to the Villans and his continued progress are something that manager of the academy, Mark Harrison, expressed his joy with.

The news about Broggio has delighted Bardell, who likened him to former Villa Park favorite Jack Grealish because of the England international’s physical characteristics.

Bardell added, “He signed his new deal and he does sound like an exciting player,” in an exclusive interview with Villa News. Getting him to commit to a new deal is important because there have been rumors that Arsenal was considering him at one point.

At a very young age, he advanced to the U-21 football team this season. In those contests, he made an impression by scoring goals and providing assists. Few 17-year-olds are able to advance to the U-21 team.

“Even if he isn’t now with the first team, I am aware that he has practiced with them several times. He’s been requested to practice with the first squad in 11-a-side matches almost every week.

“That’s encouraging, and it’s smart management to involve him with the first team so he can see that Villa has a future for him.” I believe that among the young attacking players, Omari Kellyman will be the next to try out and advance through the academy; however, based on what I’ve heard, I don’t think Broggio will lag behind.

“He seems like a really exciting player,” I said. He has comparable qualities to Grealish and fills a similar type of job, but I’m not suggesting he’s going to be as excellent.

“It will be intriguing to watch how he progresses and whether he eventually goes on loan. However, I believe that his goal for the remainder of the season is to train with the first team as often as possible, see if he can earn a spot on the bench, and become more involved with the first team group.

“But as I mentioned, it’s a good idea to tie him up because, as far as I know, Arsenal was sniffing around him.”
Ben Broggio’s contract paves the door for young Aston Villa players.

Villa Park’s future stars may be some of their gifted young players, thus it’s critical that they sign contracts with them.

Bardell disclosed that he has frequently trained with the first team, indicating that Broggio is well-liked by both the organization and first-team boss Unai Emery.

They may have an exceptional player on their hands if he can perform even close to Grealish’s level for the Villans.
