According to reports, Aston Villa “remain interested” in long-term target Emile Smith Rowe, who Arsenal may sell this month in order to raise money for
their own venture.
Only a few years ago, the 23-year-old was among the Gunners’ most crucial players, but in more recent times, he has slipped in the hierarchy.
Smith Rowe had a fantastic season in 2021–2022, scoring 10 goals. He has only started one Premier League game this season, though.
As previously stated, rumors have it that Mikel Arteta might receive more money if the attacking midfielder is sold.
Since he is an academy product and any proceeds from his sale would be recorded as pure profit on the team’s books, Arsenal would also benefit financially from his sale in terms of FFP.
This month, Arteta hopes to add a new midfield player. His primary objective, Douglas Luiz of Aston Villa, looks unattainable this month, therefore the coach has turned his focus to Amadou Onana of Everton.
Thus, Smith Rowe might be available for signing by Aston Villa in the next weeks.
