Smith was blamed for underutilizing his talent when he was the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. He failed to get Kyle Pitts and Bijan Robinson enough touches this season. Smith’s scheme was a focus of heavy criticism by Falcons fans.
Smith will head into a locker room that was frustrated by the offensive play calling during the 2023 season. Pickens and wide receiver Diontae Johnson were visibly frustrated during games when they weren’t getting touches.
