Mike Tomlin’s NFL postseason fate could be in jeopardy following his loss to Buffalo.
Mike Tomlin, the coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, left the news conference on Monday midway through after a reporter questioned him regarding his future contract. (View the video down below.)
The coach’s future is allegedly uncertain; his club having recently fallen to Buffalo in an NFL playoff game. He was obviously unwilling to talk about it.
I hear a reporter say, “Mike, you have a year left on your contract.”
Without another remark, Tomlin turned and went away instantly.
The Steelers’ 31-17 loss marked their fifth consecutive playoff setback since 2016. Nevertheless, Tomlin’s 17-year tenure has been excellent overall, with two AFC titles, a Super Bowl victory, and no losing records during his tenure.
ESPN personality According to Stephen A. Smith, Tomlin’s recent dismal postseason performance “cannot be ignored,” and it’s reasonable for supporters to wonder if it’s “time for him to go.”
At the age of 34, defensive lineman Cameron Heyward of the Steelers raised doubts about his own career, but he made it clear that he wanted Tomlin back.
According to CNN, Heyward stated, “Every player wouldn’t be anything without Mike T.” Without Mike T., this team could not even hope to qualify for the playoffs. He holds everyone of us responsible. I want to play for no other coach except myself.
The 51-year-old Tomlin and Steelers owner Art Rooney II will probably meet shortly to talk about his situation.
