The Liverpool defender Andy Robertson took responsibility for his error during Tuesday night’s 3-1 loss to England at Hampden.

Although on paper it appeared to be a friendly, everyone understood that it would actually be played like a competitive game, with Andy Robertson sending his team out to a boisterous home crowd.

After 30 minutes, England had trailed 1-0, and Robertson had a half-hour to forget as the Liverpool player gave Jude Bellingham and the hosts their second goal of the game.

All Robertson had to do to clear the threat when the ball fell to him inside the penalty area was to put his laces through it. However, he chose to throw the ball directly into Bellingham’s path, allowing him to score, for which he has since apologized, as he told beIN SPORTS.

Although the £100k-per-week star (Spotrac) is often a dependable player for both club and country, that particular play proved to be expensive because it allowed Gareth Southgate’s team to quiet the home crowd.

But instead of running away and returning to Liverpool in preparation for a return to Premier League play, Robertson acknowledged his error and said, “That can’t happen.”

Bellingham capitalizes on Robertson’s oversight.
“It was probably individual errors that cost us,” stated Robertson. “The initial objective. Due to throw-ins, we are aware of their hazard. They enjoy quick play changes.

“I’m solely to blame for the second goal. That is not possible. You try to respond after taking that in stride.

“I hate letting this team down, and I felt like I did just that. I attempted to clear the ball because I wasn’t exactly expecting it to drop on my feet, but it has clearly landed to him. And when you run into Bellingham, he isn’t going to let you get away with it in his current state, which is bad.

Robertson will lead Scotland to the 2024 Euros
The fans of Scotland will be hurt by the loss to England, but on a brighter note, they are extremely near to securing their trip to Germany for the 2024 European Championship.

Not to mention the fact that they have won five straight matches in their Euro 2024 qualifications, Robertson has been crucial to their success.

The Liverpool player may have taken a break for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but he will undoubtedly have a few dates scheduled for the coming summer.
