The offensive line of the Green Bay Packers could certainly use some work. The team’s offensive line, which was once their greatest asset, has fallen short of expectations, which hasn’t helped Jordan Love, the new starting quarterback.

The Packers have a huge chance to significantly improve their position in the 2024 free agency class if they intend to compete in the upcoming seasons and beyond.

The Packers may target offensive tackle Kevin Dotson of the Los Angeles Rams, as Bleacher Report just reported in its free agency recommendations for every NFL team.

As one of the best offensive linemen expected to enter the market, Dotson is even ranked as the best offensive guard by Pro Football Focus. Although Dotson’s contract is expected to cost $69 million over four years, the Packers may be able to pay him in other ways.

The Rams star is also only 27 years old, making him an ideal fit on the team they are building around Love. Not to mention that Dotson already has some sort of connection with the Packers, having played for Sean McVay who used to have current Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur as his offensive coordinator.

The BR article explained why the Green Bay Packers should sign Kevin Dotson in free agency: “LaFleur used to be Sean McVay’s offensive coordinator in Los Angeles and those two come from the Shanahan coaching tree, so Dotson should have some familiarity with the system in Green Bay.”

“The Packers may need to do some financial wrangling to make this acquisition, since Spotrac estimates that they will have roughly $6.5 million in cap room to start the offseason. To save some cash, they can, nevertheless, break out of a few contracts, most notably David Bakhtiari’s.

The Green Bay Packers should give Jordan Love’s safety their highest priority this offseason. They were able to keep Aaron Rodgers healthy and productive for a considerable amount of time in this way. As they try to become consistent postseason contenders again, Kevin Dotson might be that crucial defensive component.

Green Bay Packers’ Defense Is a Problem, Too
Kevin Dotson is one player the Green Bay Packers can use to improve the offensive line, but it is by no means their only issue.

Every fan is aware of the defense’s need for improvement, and defensive coordinator Joe Barry has faced criticism for the team’s play in that area.

Naturally, Barry isn’t the only one to blame for it. They lack the means to maintain a competitive defensive game. The run defense, which has given up a fourth-worst 20139 yards and 15 running touchdowns, is especially questionable.

It remains to be seen what the Packers will do with their defense, but many eyes will be on them as they navigate free agency.
