Giants are set to cut ties with the wide receiver.

The New York Giants have been ravaged by injuries and have fallen to 1-5. First came the loss of Daniel Jones and several others, and now the Giants are saying goodbye to their veteran receiver, Cole Beasley. NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo breaks the news about Beasley.

At this point in the season, going to the playoffs seems like a long shot, given the Giants’ current play. Add to that the Giants’ star quarterback, Daniel Jones, is out for the season with a torn ACL. Things look bleak. However, we’ve seen teams like the New York Jets, led by Zach Wilson. Their comeback has been one to watch. The Giants are last in the NFL East and made a surprising trade for Cole Beasley midway through the season.

Cole Beasley and the New York Giants have mutually agreed to terminate the veteran wide receiver’s one-year contract. The Giants will release Beasley from the practice squad, as he did not make the final 53-man roster. Beasley joined the Giants in July, but was placed on injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury. Beasley’s absence from practice and not playing in any of the Giants’ games made it easier for the Giants to terminate his contract.

Beasley began his NFL career in 2012 and played for the Dallas Cowboys for 7 seasons. He also spent one season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 4 seasons with the Buffalo Bills. Over the course of his 10-year career, Beasley had a total of 5.744 yards and 34 total touchdowns.

Although Beasley was signed by the New York Giants, there is no record of him playing for the team. The reason for this is that he simply did not play or practice due to an undisclosed injury.

While we’re on the subject of injuries, as of the Giants’ Week 7 report, the vast majority of the team’s players are out with injury.

The Giants’ Week 7 injury report is a bummer, and the prognosis for the rest of the 2023 season is even worse. The Giants have 15 players on the injury report, with Saquon Barkley out with an ankle injury, and Daniel Jones out with a neck injury, as well as Andrew Thomas, who has been out for a while with a hamstring injury.

The good news, though, is that the majority of the 15 players are in limited practice and some are fully active. The Giants’ next opponent, the Washington Commanders, are 3-3 and will present a difficult challenge. We recently saw how the New York Jets upset the Philadelphia Eagles.

The 2023 season has had a strange beginning, with many underdogs making their debuts. Will the Giants be on that list? It’s hard to predict.
