After the Lions lost to the Packers on Thanksgiving Day, the spotlight turned to quarterback Jared Goff. He turned the ball over six times in the span of five days (including three in the pivotal Thanksgiving Day game).

Here’s what Lions coach Dan Campbell had to say about Goff’s performance:

What did Dan Campbell say about Goff?

“I think there’s a little bit of unease about some of these things, and maybe that’s what’s causing some of the issues,” Campbell said. “We just need to get back in the flow of things, play with some more confidence.

“I’m confident that the team can fix these issues, and I’m confident in Goff’s ability to lead and play quarterback.”

“I don’t want to panic. I’ve got some time to look at a few things and see what we can do to be more efficient. But this is the same group we’ve had all year, offense, defense, Goff is the same quarterback. If we can clean up a few things and get back into the flow of things, we’ll be good.

The bottom line – resilience in adversity
The Lions are at a critical point in the season, and coach Campbell’s response to Goff’s turnovers speaks volumes about his team’s resilience. He didn’t go into “panic mode,” and his faith in Goff’s ability to bounce back speaks to a team that’s not defined by short-term struggles. Instead, they’re ready to use those struggles as a springboard for growth and development. With Campbell’s consistent leadership and Goff’s track record of success, the Lions are ready to move on, overcome their recent struggles, and keep driving in the NFC North.
