Manchester United and Arsenal given fresh chance to land 17 goal-maker as Aston Villa sign £100m defender

Premier League transfer rumours round-up begins Tuesday with a good update on the potential move of Marcos Leonardo from Santos.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Newcastle United have all been named as potential destinations for the Brazilian forward in recent times.

According to Pimenta’s agent, who spoke to Italian media, Leonardo had the opportunity to be sold in the past transfer market, but chose to stay at Santos due to the club’s special sporting situation.

Pimenta added, “He didn’t want to go because it wasn’t right, but it’s time to move, he wants to have an experience in Europe and his moment will come in the winter.

He has scored 17 goals in 2023.”

3AM VERDICT: This could be good news for any of the clubs interested in Leonardo. The young striker is a goalscorer who has a lot of potential and if he is given the right guidance, he could be a star. Definitely a player to watch as January’s transfer window approaches.

Aston Villa have been given an unexpected boost in their bid to sign World Cup winner Marcos Acuna from Sevilla.

Unai Emery’s men failed with a £13m bid to sign Acuna last summer, but now they could be given another chance to bring him in.

Vamos Mi Seville have said they are keen to offload Acuna, 32, as they look for a deal to secure the services of the Argentine.

Acuna is valued at £13m by Sevilla, who are looking to offload him in order to focus on signing Valentin Barcelona.

Villa will be keen to take advantage of the opportunity to land a player with Acuna’s pedigree and experience, and this could prove to be a smart move from their point of view.

Perhaps if the fee were to be reduced to £13m, then this could be an even more sensible deal given the player’s age.

Regardless, it’s a positive development for Aston Villa, who may be allowed to let Acuna go in January

Last but not least, Spurs may be able to let Alejo veliz leave on loan just a few months after signing him from Rosario central in the summer. The striker has only made three starts for the club so far this season and could be looking for a more regular first team role elsewhere for the rest of the season.

Bologna have been named as one of the top contenders for Veliz’s signature, and the player himself has been vocal about wanting to leave amid ongoing frustrations over a lack of first team opportunities.

This could be a great deal for all parties involved. Spurs get a player who is barely playing and can grow and develop in a new environment. Bologna gain a new striker and, in all likelihood, Spurs gain a more experienced and effective player upon Veliz’s return.
