Aston Villa receive Ferran Torres transfer update as Newcastle United claim made
Barcelona are willing to sell Ferran Torres with interest from Newcastle United emerging, it is claimed.
Previous reports in the summer claimed that Aston Villa were looking to make a loan offer for the former Manchester City winger which would include an option to sign him permanently. However, a move never materialised and he remained in Catalonia.
The Spaniard has made 16 appearances for Barca so far this season alongside five goals in all competitions. He joined the La Liga side from City in January 2022.
And now Fichajes.net claim that several Premier League clubs are interested in signing Torres next summer. Newcastle are the latest side to be linked with the winger.
The report adds that the Spaniard has not given Barcelona “the expected level” since joining and that they may sell him to raise funds for more transfers next summer.
However, the 23-year-old has previously made clear he is not open to a move. “I’m gonna stay at Barca, no doubts,” the former Manchester City player said in July. “I think I’m qualified to play for Barca and what is said about me doesn’t matter to me.”
