The club are set to finalize a deal with Aston Villa – Emery has arrived in negotiations, which are expected to be completed soon

Unai Emery and his family will continue to have “shareholder control” of Spanish club Real Unión after signing a partnership agreement with Aston Villa.

This is according to El Diario Vasco, who claim that a four-year contract between the two clubs is expected to be signed and announced next month.
Unión were expected to conclude a similar deal with Real Sociedad before joining Aston Villa, with Emery and his family working on the deal for weeks.
Diario Vasco reports that the soon-to-be-signed deal will not initially place Unión in the group of clubs controlled by Aston Villa owners V Sports.

Rather, it is a sporting partnership accompanied by “economic funding”, which does not solve the economic problems that the Irundarian club has experienced in recent years but will bring “the significant relief” and would go beyond Real Sociedad’s contribution.
Unión announced its intentions to Sociedad and the Guipuzcoan Federation and recently did the same to Irun City Hall.
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has been in town over the past few days to attend relevant meetings and speak to first-team coach Fran Justo.

Unión sees the partnership with Aston Villa as one that will not only help them economically but also provide the club with new tools in its attempt to “attack professional football”.
The next steps are to terminate the contract with Real Sociedad, complete the signing of the agreement with Aston Villa and make the details public before explaining the whole process at a general meeting next month.
