Tottenham added an update on Micky Van de Ven’s new injury that has been confirmed

Tottenham are aiming to sign defender Micky Van de Ven in the new year, but posted a video on the club’s social networks showing him training and moving around quite freely, exciting fans.
The centre-back limped off the field in the first half of Tottenham’s chaotic defeat to Chelsea as he sprinted after a high tackle, immediately sparking fears of a serious injury.

Many people thought he would have to have surgery, but after a few days when the swelling subsided, coach Ange Postecoglou confirmed that there may be no need to stab him, although he may still be sidelined until January.

The Spurs boss said: “Micky has a hamstring injury [which] we know is quite serious.
“We’re looking at a few months [of rest] in the new year.
This statement means he will miss the crucial Christmas day, but the latest video released has fans rushing and there is a feeling that he may even be back sooner rather than later than.

The Dutch defender has been a huge hit in north London since completing a £43m deal.
Until the injury, Spurs had not lost a match in the league, but his absence and the suspension of compatriot Cristian Romero weakened the team and they did not lose.

Tottenham also has James Maddison injured, while midfielder Yves Bissouma will miss Aston Villa’s match after the international break.
