Ian Wright reveals what makes Aston Villa ‘great’ after incredible winning streak
Match of the Day pundits Ian Wright and Alan Shearer hailed “fantastic” Aston Villa after beating Fulham 3-1 on Sunday.
Unai Emery’s side have now won 13 consecutive matches at Villa Park in the Premier League.
Victory in their next home match against Manchester City on 6 December would equal the club’s record of 14 consecutive wins set in the 1930–31 and 1931–32 seasons.
And Wright and Shearer were full of praise for Emery’s men.
In particular, Wright emphasized the physical advantage Villa now have when facing teams.
“They look very, very formidable,” he told Match of the Day.
“It’s no surprise that their performance is what it is.
They look healthy, vibrant and really good.
“It must be quite exciting as well, because he’s got some good players. You’ve got someone like Ollie Watkins who’s a willing runner.
“Diaby’s looking good in there, Kamara is good in there. Even Douglas Luiz, brilliant in there, so he’s got so many players in and around and they all they look fit and strong.”
