Aston Villa: ‘It’s ridiculous’ Unai Emery’s statement is baseless

We’re delighted to welcome former Aston Villa full-back Alan Hutton as our exclusive columnist.
Each week he will give his views on the key talking points at Villa Park.
Alan Hutton has defended Unai Emery for maintaining his away form despite Aston Villa’s problems on the field yard this season.

Villa lost 0-2 at Nottingham Forest on Sunday (November 5), missing the opportunity to move up to third place in the Premier League.
Speaking on Match of the Day 2 about the match, the former Villa striker called Emery’s high pass “absolutely ridiculous”, claiming the Spaniard was causing problems for his team.

However, Hutton disagrees and believes Emery has every right to stick to his philosophy no matter where they play or who they face.
“Nottingham Forest’s first goal came from the high line.
They cleared the ball on the left and the ball finally came back from the second phase.
Zaniolo came out and Aina scored.
But that’s the way they play,” Hutton told Villa News.

“I have worked with Dion Dublin before and I respect his opinion but at the end of the day it is how the coach plays.
Ange Postecoglou plays this way [at Tottenham] and he won’t change for anyone.
“Emi Martinez never makes a mistake, but for once he put the game out of reach, so what needs to be overcome for Villa to move forward and become a top 4 challenger is external form their.
“At home they play very well but their away form is mostly a failure.
But that won’t change the way they play football.
They will play with a high stance.

Aston Villa has the best home record in the Premier League this season with 5 wins in 5 matches and scoring 20 goals.
However, far behind B6 in the championship, they got two wins, one draw and three defeats.
The Villans also lost to Legia Warsaw in the Europa Conference League.
