Congratulations happy birthday to David McCormack as he celebrate his 25th birthday…

David McCormack’s game-sealing hook shot in the final minute of the 2022 national championship game is one of the most iconic shots in Kansas Jayhawks history. It was the cherry on top of his terrific four-year career in Lawrence.

He has yet to play an NBA game yet, but he was one of the players listed on the Toronto Raptors Summer League roster. Now, he will look to continue that same success in the Summer League with fellow Jayhawk Gradey Dick.

After going undrafted last year, he played four games of Summer League ball for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He averaged 7 points, 6 rebounds, and shot 42.9 percent from the field. However, it was not enough to garner a two-way contract, so McCormack joined Beşiktaş Emlakjet, a basketball team in Turkey.

In 132 games played at Kansas, McCormack averaged 8.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks. He was named to the All-Big 12 Second and Third Team, as well as the Big 12’s Most Improved Player in 2021. His terrific play in the 2022 NCAA Tournament earned him All-Tournament honors.

At 6-foot-10, 250 pounds, McCormack is an exceptional athlete for his size. He can score with his back to the basket or in pick-and-roll action. He can also shoot the occasional mid-range jumper if needed, but he is more known for his post-scoring and rebounding.
