The contract, which includes a player option for the third year, ensures that Irving remains a key player for the Mavericks for at least the next two seasons.

2023-24 season: $38.9 million

2024-25 season: $42 million

2025-26 season: $45.1 million (player option)

 

In addition, there are $6 million in total incentives. This includes $1 million per year for playing at least 65 games, and an additional $1 million if the team achieves at least 50 wins and Irving plays a minimum of 58 games. With an average annual value of $42 million, the deal underscores Irving’s value to the team and the league.

 

His decision to include a player option for the 2025-26 season also provides flexibility for both him and the franchise.

 

Irving’s contract aims to bring stability and high-level performance to the Mavericks as they strive for deeper playoff success in the coming years.
