Luka Doncic feels as though he’s ‘letting [Kyrie Irving] down,’ he said after the Mavs fell 116-111 to the Clippers in Game 4 of the first round.
Irving was spectacular in the loss, notching 40 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Doncic managed a 29-10-10 triple-double.
However, the MVP finalist – who is dealing with a knee injury – was apparently displeased with his performance following the game, which evened the series at 2-2.
I just got to help him more,’ Doncic told reporters, speaking about his teammate Irving.
‘I feel like I’m letting him down, so I got to be there. I got to help him more.
He’s given everything that he has, and he’s been amazing for us the whole series.’
