Nottingham Forest-bound Jadon Sancho is unlikely to sign for Borussia Dortmund in the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old had an impressive four-year spell in Germany which caught the eye of Manchester United, who paid £73m to sign him. But things have not gone to plan at Old Trafford since then, with the winger publicly falling out with manager Erik ten Hag.
His long-term future at the club is in jeopardy as he continues to train alone. All parties are likely to be open to the idea of selling him when the window reopens in January.
Mets, meanwhile, paid off their interest in Sancho. Steve Cooper coached the full-back with England under-17s when they won the World Cup six years ago
Although the player is “open” to joining a new club, his former team Dortmund are not interested in bringing him back. That’s according to Germany’s Sport Bild, which reports that it’s just a rumor that’s been going around over the summer. The report highlights Barcelona’s transfer interest as genuine, but the La Liga giants would have to cover United’s £43m asking price. Therefore, they may look for a loan agreement instead.
They also add that Sancho has rejected offers from Saudi Arabia, while Forest are described as one of the interested parties. Sancho was left out of United’s last two matchday squads against Arsenal and Brighton.
