Following the horrible massacre in Kansas City, other NFL teams extended their support, including the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Following the announcement that a shooting had occurred at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade, the NFL was rocked by sorrow. The Pittsburgh Steelers also extended their support to individuals impacted by the terrible incident, even as players, coaches, and fans work to begin their road to recovery.
The Steelers tweeted from their primary account, “Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, the Kansas City community, and Chiefs Kingdom.”
The Chiefs’ celebratory parade was cut short near Union Station, an Amtrak hub in the middle of Kansas City, Missouri, when shots rang out and sent crowds scattering.
One person has died, according to the New York Times, and 22 suffered gunshot wounds. 12 of those victims had been transported to University Health Hospital, eight of whom are receiving treatment for gunshot wounds. 12 more people who attended the rally are at Children’s Mercy Hospital receiving treatment, per the Times. 11 of those at Children’s Mercy are children and nine are being treated for gunshot wounds.
Additionally, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes expressed his support on Twitter by writing, “Praying for Kansas City.”
The victims and their families have the sympathy and best wishes of all Steelers.
