This weekend, Georgia will travel to Knoxville to play Tennessee in another top-20 SEC matchup. Before the Bulldogs play the Volunteers, here is the final injury report.
This weekend, Georgia will play No. 18 Tennessee in Knoxville in the SEC regular-season finale. The Bulldogs secured the SEC East for a third straight season a week ago when they decisively trounced Ole Miss, 52-17. Tennessee comes into the game at 7-3 and having just lost on the road against Missouri, many of its preseason hopes dashed. Still, the Volunteers pose a threat, particularly when facing the top team in the country in the hostile environment at Neyland Stadium.
Georgia has been forced to contend with an unprecedented rash of injuries for most of the 2023 season. Still, its injury situation is trending in a positive direction. With the daunting trip to Knoxville ahead of them this weekend and an SEC Championship matchup with No. 8 Alabama looming in the not-so-distant future, it could not happen at a better time.
Here is the final injury report for Georgia’s road trip to Tennessee.
- CB Julian Humphrey (Upper Body) – DOUBTFUL Humphrey had begun to earn more reps in the Georgia defense prior to suffering an upper-body injury in last week’s game against Ole Miss. The sophomore left the Ole Miss game in the first half and did not return. While Georgia Head Coach Kirby Smart was non-committal regarding the nature of Humphrey’s injury, he remains doubtful to play Saturday against Tennessee.
- ILB Jamon Dumas-Johnson (Forearm) – DOUBTFUL Dumas-Johnson missed Georgia’s win over Ole Miss after suffering a fractured forearm the prior in the game against Missouri. Smart declined to offer specifics regarding the preseason All-American’s progress but did reveal that “it’s week to week. We’re trying to get him back.”
- TE Brock Bowers (Ankle) – IN Bowers was forced to miss Georgia’s wins over Florida and Missouri after suffering a high ankle sprain in the Bulldogs’ game against Vanderbilt on Oct. 14, but the two-time All-American made his return last week against Ole Miss, playing extensively against the Rebels. Smart indicated that Bowers was dealing with some soreness in the aftermath of last week’s game, but he is expected to once again suit up and take the field this weekend in Knoxville.
- WR Ladd McConkey (Ankle) – IN McConkey, who missed Georgia’s first four games of the season with a lingering back injury, left Saturday’s game against Ole Miss and did not return. However, he was made available for post-game interviews and indicated that he simply rolled his ankle and will be available to play against Tennessee. Smart also indicated after the Ole Miss game that McConkey could have returned to the game if needed.
