After Preston North End’s 2-1 loss to Leeds United today, Elland Road made clear the necessity for a new right wing back.

Will Keane gave PNE the lead early in West Yorkshire after finishing off a ball that was placed in by Liam Millar to make it three goals in two games.

Daniel James reacted fast, but North End kept up their threat and in the latter part of the half looked like they were trying to settle down and get a point.

After intense Leeds pressure, PNE finally gave up when Joel Piroe scored an injury-time penalty after Ryan Ledson was called for handball.

At the final whistle, North End would have been devastated since they had fought so hard for a draw, only to have a point stolen at the last second.

This performance had some positive aspects, but it also brought up some old problems, like the right wing back dilemma.
All PNE needs to do is sign another right-wing back.

Brad Potts’ heart, desire, and unwavering resolve to turn around his PNE career are unquestionable.

Many will recall that in 2021, when Potts was struggling to find his best form under Frankie McAvoy, he was ironically cheered off the pitch at Nottingham Forest.
