LeBron James scored just 10 points for the Los Angeles Lakers, who have had a terrible NBA season thus far. On Thursday night, the Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns by a convincing score of 127-109. As the team concentrated on making three-pointers, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal were in outstanding form, with both players scoring more over 30 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ dismal start to the season persisted as they fell to the Phoenix Suns 127-109 on Thursday night.
Two players scored over 30 points, accounting for about half of the team’s total, which aided the Suns.
Coach Frank Vogel had emphasized before the game that the team needed to make more three-pointers to secure any advantages, and the players delivered the goods to secure the win.
Devin Booker scored 31 points, while Bradley Beal scored 37, 24 of which came from three-point range.
Beal’s performance was especially impressive after battling back and injury problems that had confined him to six appearances in the first 30 games of the season, but his 80% three-point percentage was impressive, adding 20 points in the third quarter to help construct a fourth-quarter lead of 32.
After the victory, Vogel remarked, “I thought the whole game was a positive step in the direction of how we want to play offensively.”
Beal added: It’s something that I’ve been trying to kick myself to do the previous five years of my career, to hit eight-to-10 3-pointers a game.
“I got it back feeling right by working with my training group back in town. Tonight, I felt secure in it and just let it flow once it was in my hands.
“I was doing what my team-mates asked of me,” Booker stated, citing support from teammate Kevin Durant. It’s enormous to have a friend like Durant who can offer you so much confidence and let you to shine.
“As much as everybody can be aggressive without having to focus on trying to get me or our best scorers the ball, be aggressive and just make the right play,” added Durant, who finished the game with 18 points.
“We’re going to find the ball. Reiterating that to your teammates occasionally helps them to go out and be free thinkers.
LeBron James, who said his team “sucked” last week, finished with just 10 points, 9 assists, and 5 rebounds. He also believed the Lakers were outplayed.
“Having their ‘Big Three’ helped as well, and I thought they were very aware of what we wanted to do,” he stated.
Elsewhere on Thursday night, the Portland Trail Blazers were thrashed 139-77 by the Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Milwaukee Bucks strolled over the Boston Celtics 135-102.
In the 2024 NBA Paris Game, the Brooklyn Nets lost 111-102 to the Cleveland Cavaliers, while the Dallas Mavericks defeated the New York Knicks 128-124.
