In that scenario, the team might start looking for a new head coach as soon as possible. Shaq was asked if he would ever consider coaching Los Angeles in light of this. While discussing the matter on The Big podcast, Shaq stated he has no interest in ever coaching the Lakers. The former great center swears he’d “never” take the job. However, his rationale is incredibly amusing.

Yes, that most likely wouldn’t go over well with the Lakers management. or, for that matter, any place of business. Could you also picture getting smacked by Shaq? His hand is the size of a baking sheet. I would most likely spend several months in the ICU in a coma if O’Neal gave me a slap. Thank you, but no!
Shaq gave a hilarious answer, but the Lakers may need to act quickly. Even with LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the way, Darvin Ham’s team is simply not performing up to par. The team’s record now stands at 19–20 for the season following Thursday night’s crushing of the Phoenix Suns.
The Lakers are still very much in the running for the playoffs, which is wonderful news. especially now that the play-in system is used by the league for the postseason. Los Angeles still has time to make a difference in the season. But the clock is clearly ticking.
