Breaking: NFC rival claims Packers promising young out …..

A Green Bay Packers rookie cornerback who was cut on Tuesday and then claimed off the practice squad by an NFC rival on Wednesday couldn’t be re-signed to the 53-man roster. The Packers also waived Kyu Blue Kelly on Tuesday, which some Packers fans believe meant that Eric Stokes would be activated from IR.

The fifth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in April, Kelly spent some time with the Seattle Seahawks before being signed off waivers by the Packers in November. He played some defense and special teams on Thanksgiving, when the Packers hosted the Detroit Lions and Kelly signed with the Commanders.

According to Ben Standing of The Athletic, Kelly was claimed off waivers by the Washington Commanders from the Packers.

With the move, the Packers can no longer retain the young cornerback on the practice squad. It will be interesting to see how much the Commanders utilize Kelly on defense and special teams as opposed to the Packers.

“The Washington Commanders claimed Kelly off waivers from the Packers,” Ben Standing wrote in The Athletic.
