Oklahoma superstar has been Transferred to….

Dillon Gabriel, a transfer-eligible quarterback out of the Oklahoma Sooners’ transfer portal, has decided to join the Oregon Ducks, as he announced his decision on social media.

Gabriel spent the past two seasons as the starting quarterback for the Sooners, after transferring to Oklahoma from UCF before the start of the 2021 season. He was originally a three star recruit out of Mililani high school in Hawaii, per the 247Sports Composite. According to the same system, he was ranked as the #754 player nationwide, the #27 pro-style quarterback and the #9 recruit in Hawaii by the Knights.

Gabriel led Oklahoma to an undefeated 10-2 record in 2023, with the only losses coming to Kansas Jayhawks (twice) and Oklahoma State Cowboys (twice). In the process, he completed 3,360 passes for 30 touchdowns against only 6 interceptions. He had 4 300-yard completions and 3 400-yard completions in the regular season, helping Oklahoma outscore opponents by an average of 17 points per game.

Gabriel is also one of the best running backs in the country, rushing 373 yards on 93 attempts (4.01 yards per carry) for 12 touchdowns.

Gabriel’s arrival in Eugene comes after the Ducks’ senior quarterback Bo Nix opted to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft following the Fiesta Bowl against Liberty, ending his two-year tenure with the team.
